OxygenOS 16.0.2.400 update for OnePlus Open adds Smart Sidebar storage tools, widget stacking, and Photos app enhancements
Earlier in December, OnePlus began rolling out an update for the OnePlus Open in India. However, that release was bundled with the November 2025 security patch. Now, OnePlus has announced a second update for the OnePlus Open this month.
This new update, OxygenOS 16.0.2.400, brings several bug fixes along with a handful of new features. That said, it still does not include the December 2025 security patch.
The update is being rolled out with the version number IN: CPH2551_16.0.2.400(EX01). Since the rollout has only just begun, not many users have received it yet. As a result, there is currently limited feedback available regarding stability or potential issues following the update. OnePlus has also not announced the rollout for other regions so far, although this is likely to happen in the near future. If you are among the early users receiving this update in India, you can submit feedback by dialling *#800# to access the built-in feedback tool and report any issues you may encounter.

With this update, storage cleanup tools are now directly accessible from the Smart Sidebar, making routine maintenance quicker and more convenient. App icon management has also been refined, allowing users to drag and rearrange shortcut icons after resizing an app icon, resize app clone icons, and add shortcuts more easily. Additionally, the Home screen now supports stacking 2×1 widgets, helping users make better use of available space.
The Photos app has received several improvements, including new filtering options such as Motion Photo, Screenshots & Screen recordings, and Edited, making it easier to organise and find images and videos. Thumbnail processing has also been optimised, resulting in faster loading times. On the security and privacy front, images and videos stored in Private Safe can now be edited without unlocking them. Meanwhile, the Phone Manager app now prompts users to allow automatic blocklist updates over both Wi-Fi and mobile data, ensuring timely updates and continued protection.
