OriginOS 6 Global Debut Officially Confirmed for October 15

After months of rumours and leaks, Vivo has finally confirmed the global debut of OriginOS. The company announced through its official OriginOS Global account on X that the launch event will take place on October 15th in Shanghai. The post, however, only mentions the date and does not reveal any additional details about it.

Ahead of this, Vivo will host its annual developer conference in China on October 10, where it is going to introduce OriginOS 6 based on Android 16, along with the domestic rollout schedule. The global rollout schedule is likely to be revealed at the October 15th event.

Reports indicate that the global version of OriginOS may ship with a pared-down feature set compared to the Chinese variant. Rumours also suggest that the iQOO 15 series or the Vivo X300 series could be among the first devices to launch internationally with OriginOS pre-installed.

With the global launch date now confirmed, we can expect Vivo to share more details about the software and its features in the days leading up to the event.
