Oppo announces ColorOS January 2026 Update Global rollout schedule, brings AI Writer and O+ Connect to Find and Reno series

Following the ColorOS December 2025 update, Oppo has now announced the ColorOS January 2026 Update Global rollout schedule, bringing back the AI Writer feature that Oppo had temporarily paused at the end of last year, after several users reported inconsistency with it. This same issue was there in OnePlus smartphones also, and OnePlus also did temperoraly paused it.

The update also brings the new O+ Connect feature, which allows users to receive iPhone notifications — including calls, messages, and alerts — directly on their Oppo devices. However, this is limited to the Find X9, Find X9 Pro, Find N5, Reno 14 5G, and Reno 14 Pro 5G.

According to the announcement page, Oppo began rolling out the update on January 8th and expects to complete the rollout by January 31st, 2026. Along with the AI Writer and O+ Connect, the update adds several other improvements, such as users can now search and share files directly from folders within Private Safe. Through this update, the Camera app now supports a unique 65:24 aspect ratio in Photo, Night, and Master modes. Oppo has also improved app categorisation in Drawer mode by adding new “Office” and “Finance” categories. Additionally, users can now hide the “Reply with SMS” option using a new toggle in Contact settings.

If you want to turn on the “Reply with SMS” option, just tap the three dots, head to Settings, choose Answer/End Calls, and then select Reply with SMS.
