One UI 8.5 spotted with system-wide 3D icons, Weather app gets gradient makeover

Last month, the first look of One UI 8.5 leaked online, which revealed that the custom skin arrives with a refreshed user interface with new menus and other characteristics. Tipster @UniverseIce revealed that initially, some icons in the One UI 8.5 version YJ1 had changed from 2D to 3D icons. But now, as per a new update by @iceuniverse, all icons now appear in a 3D look. As seen in the above image, the changed icons include Galaxy Store, Photos, and File Manager.

Another tipster, @tarunvats33, has exclusively revealed on the X platform that One UI 8.5 brings gradients near the edges of the Weather app.
It is said that One UI 8.5 notably arrives with certain iOS 26-inspired elements. More details are expected to be revealed about this latest custom skin. Reportedly, a One UI 8.5 build is already ready for this year’s Galaxy S25 Ultra flagship – meaning following its debut on the Galaxy S26 series flagships, older Galaxy devices will also be offered the latest custom skin as an OTA update.
