Samsung’s next One UI 8.5 which will be based on the Android 16 operating system is believed to get released along with the Galaxy S26 series flagships and notably, we have already come across its first look design late last month. A few days back, system-wide 3D app icons and a gradient appearance for the weather app were also revealed. Now, newer updates have arrived pointing out its new software update download screen and new notification badges.
Check out more about these new design aspects below.
One UI 8.5 – New Software Download Screen and Notification Badges
In the next One UI 8.5 custom skin that is expected to arrive early next year, Samsung Galaxy users can expect a revamped and refreshed design for the software download screen. From the previous design, the image has been switched to something new, and the whole layout is now re-aligned with the changelogs first, followed by the update information and warnings. Notably, it is now more spacious and neat when compared with the previous one.
Coming to the notification background, in the Android 15-based One UI 8 custom, Samsung Galaxy users would have seen the notification background in the lock screen appearing more transparent, making it difficult to read the contents of the message against the wallpaper. As per the revealed image, this issue will be fixed in the One UI 8.5 custom, featuring opaque and neatly stacked notification badges.
