Nothing Phone (2) Receives September 2025 Security Patch with New Camera Presets and Features

September has just started, and Nothing has begun rolling out an update for the Nothing Phone (2). The update is being distributed with the version number Nothing OS V3.2-250828-1921. Although this update brings some new features, it weighs only about 161MB.

The rollout has just begun, so most users will not receive it immediately. Since it is a phased rollout, it may take around one to two weeks for the complete rollout to be finished. Now, moving on to what has been added in this update.

The Camera app now has a new Personal Presets feature. This lets users customize their camera experience by selecting their preferred look and mood before taking a shot. The default preset collection includes B&W Film for classic monochrome tones, Retro for nostalgic images with warm vintage colors, Soft Focus for gentle blurs that create a dreamy feel, and Lenticular for sharp depth and layered textures.

The highlight of this collection is the “Stretch” preset. This is a special collaboration with photographer Jordan Hemingway and brings his signature style to users. It features rich shadows and extended highlights for unique photographic results. Additionally, the default gallery options for previewing photos in the Camera app settings have been updated to improve the user experience.

Widget functionality has been expanded with new sharing capabilities for both Pedometer and Screentime Widgets, while Shared Widgets now support a broader range of sticker types for more customization options.

The update also addresses numerous technical issues and performance optimizations. Quick Settings tile display errors have been resolved, and the problem preventing PDFs from opening in Cloned apps has been fixed. The VoNR icon display in the status bar has been optimized, and issues with blocking connected devices in Hotspot and tethering functionality have been corrected. Battery usage has been improved when connecting watches to the phone, and Inter font display problems affecting Instagram, Subito, and other applications have been resolved.

Additionally, you may notice that the phone heats up during the update process. Well, this is normal, and after the update, it will come back to its normal temperature.
