Microsoft Officially Releases its Windows 10 September 2025 Security Updates: Fixes for Certain Windows Operating System Issues

The September 2025 security updates for Windows 10 users with versions 21H2, 22H2, 1809, 1607, and 1507 have now been released. As part of these latest updates, Microsoft will also be rolling out certain fixes for the issues that have been affecting the Windows operating system.

For Windows 10 Versions 21H2 and 22H2
The update that is brought out for the Windows 10 versions of 21H2 (applies to Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2021 and Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2021) and 22H2 (applies to all editions) has the firmware version of ‘KB5065429’, and both fixes and quality improvements are part of the update. On version 21H2, the update will bring an added capability for IT administrators to deploy SMB hardening measures, fix an issue which causes non-admin users to get User Account Control (UAC) prompts, and it will also fix the uneven audio/video performance issues while relying the Network Device Interface (NDI). The latter two changelogs are also being rolled out for Windows 10 version 22H2 users as well.
For Windows 10 Version 1809
Coming to the Windows 10 version 1809 update, it applies to Windows 10 Ent LTSC 2019, Windows IoT Ent LTSC 2019, and Windows 10 IoT Core LTSC, and has the firmware version of ‘KB5065428’. The update will bring two fixes to the respective users, one for the Chinese Simplified Input Method Editor (IME) and the other for non admin users receiving User Account Control (UAC) prompts. Additionally, users will also be enabled to audit SMB client compatibility for SMB server signing and SMB server EPA.
For Windows 10 Version 1607
On the Windows 10 version 1607 (applies to Windows 10 IoT Enterprise 2016 LTSB ), the fix for non admin users receiving User Account Control (UAC) prompts and capability to audit SMB client compatibility for SMB server signing and SMB server EPA are being brought to users. The update has the firmware version of ‘KB5065427’.
For Windows 10 Version 1507
Finally regarding the Windows 10 version 1507, the update that is being rolled out has the firmware version of ‘KB5065430’. Again, this update also brings the admin users receiving User Account Control (UAC) prompts fix and the auditing SMB client compatibility for SMB server signing and SMB server EPA capability.
In order to get the update, after meeting the necessary requirements, users of the mentioned Windows 10 versions can install the update via Windows Update, Business, Update Catalog, and Server Update Services release channels.
