Transforming Windows 11 PCs into AI PCs

The deep integration of multiple AI capabilities is the main focus of the updates that Microsoft is bringing to its Windows 11 PCs, and a few of the key additions include the ‘Hey Copilot’ voice wake word, world-wide availability of Copilot Vision (with full desktop and app sharing, highlights, full app context in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, and Text-in Text-Out*), advanced agentic features (previewed for Windows Insiders), re-imagined taskbar with an ‘Ask Copilot’ option, and experimental Copilot Actions (for local files). With Gaming Copilot (as beta), AI-powered gaming can be experienced on Windows as well as on ROG Xbox Ally and Xbox.

Speaking more, the above-mentioned features and capabilities are further complemented by Copilot Connectors that help in linking the AI to services such as Google Drive, OneDrive, and Outlook. Moreover, the Manus AI Action has also been added in the File Explorer for heavy duty tasks, and it can act as a general agent which can perform tasks like creating basic websites from documents that are stored locally on the PC. Also, the brand has given strong emphasis upon security and notably, the Copilot Actions capability is turned off by default and the full control is given to users alone.

While the brand has brought or is bringing the mentioned features and capabilities to PCs running on Windows 11, consumers who would like to experience more faster, secure, and performance-oriented AI will have to get themselves a Copilot+ PC itself that equips a dedicated Neural Processing Unit (NPU).

In related news, marking the end of support for the Windows 10 operating system, Microsoft had rolled out the last Windows 10 October 2025 security update two days back. However, interested users who would like to continue receiving critical security updates can enroll for the Windows 10 Extended Security Updates (ESU) program (paid subscription service*).
