Google Releases August 2025 Security Patch with Bug Fixes for Eligible Pixel Users
Google has truly aced in release of the Android 16 update for its Pixel series smartphones. Now, it is rolling out the August 2025 security patch update, along with some bug fixes and new features. The update is being released in phases, starting today, and will continue throughout the next week, depending on the carrier and device. Pixel users will receive a notification once the update becomes available for their devices.

System Updates:
General system improvements for stability and performance in certain conditions. These changes aim to enhance the overall user experience across all supported Pixel devices.
User Interface Enhancements:
Scheduled Dark Theme Fix: A bug where the scheduled dark theme wasn’t functioning correctly under certain conditions has been addressed.
Navigation Fixes: Issues related to both 3-button and gesture navigation, which were causing disruptions in certain scenarios, have been resolved.
In addition to the standard security updates included in the Android Security Bulletin, the August 2025 update also addresses multiple security vulnerabilities. One of the critical fixes is related to the modem component, with the patch addressing CVE-2025-26784, which could allow for remote code execution (RCE) with high severity. This vulnerability affects Pixel devices, including the Pixel 7, Pixel 8, Pixel Fold, Pixel Tablet, and the new Pixel 9 series, along with their Pro and Pro XL variants.
