Google now rolling out a new firmware update (version 3.581.0) for Pixel Buds A-Series, check details inside

Before announcing the April 2026 security patch updates for the Google Pixel Smartphones, Google has announced the rollout of a new update for the Pixel Buds A-Series.

Here is more to it.

Pixel Buds A-Series – New Firmware Update (version 3.581.0)

In a blog post, Google has confirmed the rollout of a new update with the firmware version “3.581.0” for all the Pixel Buds A-Series, including the very first ones that were launched back in 2021. Looking into the changelog, it only brings bug fixes and improves performance and security, but does not go into detail as to what bugs have been fixed in this update.

Google has also shared how you can keep your buds updated. Just follow the steps below:

  • Automatic updates: If you have automatic updates turned on, your Pixel Buds A-Series will automatically update when connected to a Pixel phone using Android 10+ or an Android 6.0+ device with the Pixel Buds app installed. This download takes about 10 minutes, and you can still use your earbuds during this time. Once downloaded, the update will install when you place the earbuds into the charging case with sufficient battery. If no update is mentioned, your firmware is current.
  • Manual updates: When automatic updates are turned off, a notification will appear on your device when an update is available, but it won’t be downloaded or installed on your Pixel Buds. You can manually initiate the download on your phone once it’s available. This takes about 15 minutes.
