Apple to officially release iOS 26 today: Check out the new features, compatible devices and expected release time

After introducing the iPhone 17 series, Apple is all set to release iOS 26. As officially announced, iOS will be released today, though the exact time was not specified by the company. Apple India’s website officially reveals the new features of iOS 26 and the compatible devices list, while below is also the expected release time for this next-generation operating system.

iOS 26 will be arriving with a major design overhaul for iOS. The new Liquid glass design is said to give users a more consistent experience across their apps and devices with a sense of fluidity. You will get to see a more vibrant Lock screen with a new 3D effect, updated app icons, and liquid glass controls. Apple Intelligence is integrated to help users communicate across languages with features like Live Translation, Live translation support with AirPods, visual intelligence, image playground gets ChatGPT styles, Genmoji, and intelligence actions in Shortcuts.

For communication, there is a call screening feature, screen new senders (in Messages, Phone & FaceTime), hold assist, polls in messages, and built-in backgrounds for Messages. With iOS 26, maps will understand your preferred routes, and you can use AutoMix or Lyrics translation features in Apple Music. There is also a new games app, new accessibility features, child accounts, parental controls, high-quality audio recording during video conference calls or in camera, reminder works based on emails or other texts on your device, updated layout for photos, AirPods camera remote features, upgraded snooze duration for alarms and more.
