Apple Rolls Out iOS 18.6, iPadOS 18.6, and macOS Sequoia 15.6 with Bug Fixes

Apple has begun rolling out the iOS 18.6 and iPadOS 18.6 updates, along with macOS Sequoia 15.6, for eligible devices. The update size is around 754.6 MB on iPhones and includes important bug fixes and security updates. It also resolves an issue in the Photos app that could prevent memory movies from being shared. Similarly, the macOS Sequoia 15.6 update, which is about 2.84 GB in size, also brings critical bug fixes and security patches and is recommended for all users.

However, the full changelog has not yet been published, and more details are expected to be released soon.

In addition to the updates, Apple has also introduced a new user experience in the EU for installing third-party app marketplaces and apps directly from developer websites. Starting with iOS 18.6 and iPadOS 18.6, users in the EU will be able to install alternative app marketplaces such as the “Acme Store” via a streamlined process that involves on-screen prompts and secure side-button confirmation. Similarly, for individual apps like “Backyard Birds,” users will first be required to enable installation permissions via device settings before completing the installation from a web source.
