Tesla to start shipping its 500 mile Semitruck this year with its Cybertruck being out in 2023

Earlier on Wednesday, Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, announced that the company would start shipping its 500-mile (804-km) semi-truck this year and the Cybertruck with a comparable range in 2023.

Recently, Tesla had its annual shareholders meeting at the Gigafactory Austin, which prominently featured both the Semi and Cybertruck. Musk stated that the price will differ from when the innovative vehicle is first introduced in 2023. In response to his “Master Plan, Part Deux,” Musk disclosed information about the 500-mile-range Semi truck that will be delivering this year.

This year, Tesla’s 500-mile-range Semi Truck will start shipping, and the Cybertruck will follow the following year. Musk’s announcement may be helpful for the 500-mile Tesla Semi model and its reservation holders, some of whom have been waiting for the Class 8 all-electric truck since it was launched in late 2017. The first Tesla Semi deliveries were planned to take place in the fourth quarter of 2021, according to a company statement made by PepsiCo last year. PepsiCo, back in 2017, had placed an order of 100 semi trucks, it is one of the biggest orders for Tesla Semis. Other companies like J.B. Hunt, Meijer, DHL and Titanium Transportation had also placed an order for the same.

It appears that this goal was not achieved, despite Tesla Semi units being spotted at PepsiCo’s Frito Lay facility in Modesto, California, this year. A number of Tesla Semi Mega chargers have also been added to the Modesto location.

During the Q4 FY 2021 earnings call in January of last year, Musk predicted a release date for the Tesla Semi, but it was noticeably conservative. The CEO continued by saying that Tesla intends to start producing the Cybertruck, Semi, Roadster, and to a lesser extent, Optimus, sometime in the following year.
