LinkedIn trying to woo Hindi Audience by offering hindi language interface

LinkedIn, a professional networking platform, debuted a Hindi-language user interface on Thursday, with the goal of reaching 600 million Hindi speakers throughout the world.
LinkedIn intends to break down language barriers with this launch, giving Hindi speakers in India and around the world more access to professional and networking possibilities. With the addition of Hindi, LinkedIn now supports a total of 25 languages throughout the world.
In a statement, Ashutosh Gupta, LinkedIn’s India Country Manager, said, “We have seen high engagement and member growth in the last year, and it is at this exciting inflection point that we are strengthening our vision to create economic opportunity for ‘every’ member of the workforce, and breaking down language barriers for Hindi speakers around the world.”

Members will be able to access their feed, profile, jobs, messaging, and publish content in Hindi on desktop and on their Android and iOS phones starting Thursday as part of the Phase 1 rollout of LinkedIn in Hindi.
As a second step, LinkedIn will aim to expand the number of career opportunities available for Hindi speakers across industries, including more banking and government positions. In the next weeks, the platform will continue to introduce additional Hindi publishers and artists to increase member participation and dialogues in Hindi.
To view the LinkedIn mobile application in Hindi, users must select Hindi as their preferred device language in their phone settings. The LinkedIn experience will be available in Hindi for individuals who already have Hindi set as their preferred language on their cellphones.

On a desktop, members should select ‘Settings and Privacy’ from the ‘Me’ icon at the top of their LinkedIn homepage. Members must then go to the left-hand menu and pick ‘Account Preferences,’ then ‘Site Preferences,’ ‘Change’ next to ‘Language,’ and then ‘Hindi’ from the drop-down list.
With 82 million members in a global community of 800 million, India is a key market for LinkedIn’s growth and the second-largest market in terms of members after the United States. The business states that India’s user base has expanded by more than 20 million in the last three years (15 percent year-over-year growth) and that engagement and talks on the platform have increased since the outbreak.
