Rockstar confirms GTA 6 is in active development!

Finally, it’s happened! Grand Theft Auto 6 is now in “active development,” according to Rockstar, and the new game is “well started.” What a beautiful day.

GTA V will be released on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X on March 15th, 2022, according to Rockstar Games’ own blog post. Grand Theft Auto Online will be available on all next-generation platforms at the same time. The game was originally set to be released in March, but it now has a specific release date.

GTA V was released in September 2013 and has now sold over 155 million copies around the world. For months, rumours have swirled that another game was in the works, with Rockstar’s own financial statistics possibly hinting at a release date. In any case, having proof of the game’s existence is massive, and it will undoubtedly be one of the year’s biggest stories.

According to a Kotaku storey from April 2020, the next instalment in the GTA series is “early in development.” Is it possible that a trailer will be released later this year, two years later? On November 2nd, 2011, the first GTA V trailer was released.

Looking at when we might get a release date, Rockstar has released GTA games in October on several occasions in the past. While Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition was released on November 11th, 2021, the core mainline GTA games present a different image.
