The ‘SM8650-AB’ is the standard octa-core version with a primary clock speed of 3.30 GHz and after this, the over-clocked octa-core version (‘SM8650-AC’) with a higher primary clock speed of ‘3.39 GHz’ was released initially for the 2024-released Galaxy S24 series as the ‘Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy’ and also as the ‘Leading Version’ for other brands like ZTE and Nubia (ZTE-associated). Following these two, the under-clocked octa-core version (‘SM8650-AA’) with a primary clock speed of 3.05 GHz was also released for the Honor 400 Pro and Honor 300 Ultra smartphones.

As per what has now been revealed, Qualcomm is planning to release two more new variants of its Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip with model numbers of ‘SM8650-Q-AB’ and ‘SM8650-Q-AA’, and unlike the previous ones, these are going to be 6-core editions. The former (‘SM8650-Q-AB’) has an architecture with 3.30 GHz x 1 + 2.96 GHz x 4 + 2.27 GHz x 1 core configuration, whereas the latter has a primary core that is clocked at 3.00 GHz (~ the other cores may be same as that of the ‘SM8650-Q-AB’ variant).
