For the year 2022, Facebook downloads dropped by more than 25%, TikTok kept winning as the downloads saw a great surge, and CapCut, a formerly obscure video editing software, cracked the top four most-downloaded apps in the world.

Here is the list of the top 10 most-downloaded apps globally as per Apptopia ranking:

  1. TikTok: 672 million
  2. Instagram: 548 million
  3. WhatsApp: 424 million
  4. CapCut: 357 million
  5. Snapchat: 330 million
  6. Telegram: 310 million
  7. Subway Surfers: 304 million
  8. Facebook: 298 million
  9. Stumble Guys: 254 million
  10. Spotify: 238 million

As per the list published Facebook has seen a major drop in the number of downloads. Whereas the parent company of Facebook on the whole performed well with the increasing growth and popularity of Whatsapp the messaging app.

Unlike 2021 two gaming apps namely Subway Surfers and Stumble Guys made their strong presence in the list. TikTok despite being banned in various countries topped the list with 672 million downloads. Instagram popularity is taking over the world as the app stands second in the list of most downloaded apps of 2022.

The Swedish audio streaming and media services app Spotify landed at number 10 in the list with 238 million downloads across the globe.
