Google India YouTube Channel Now Removed, Reason Being Violation of Community Guidelines

Google’s official YouTube channel for the Indian market has been removed and is currently not active. Many of the brand’s blogs and news posts that were shared for India are now filled with broken embeds.

Was the Google India YouTube Channel Hacked?

Crypto scams are something that we come across very often and wrongdoers try all means to find new victims. One such method that these wrongdoers try out is the YouTube channel takeovers and plotting their crypto scams aiming at the hacked channel’s subscribers and followers. Ranveer Allahbadia’s YouTube channel getting hacked last year was also part of this same crypto scam attempt. While most of us know that it is a possible scam, at least a few fall into the trap when they see a profitable crypto scheme being promoted from a known YouTube channel.

Usually, it is the YouTube channels of individual creators that get hacked but not anymore. As per recent reports, one of Google’s official YouTube channels was hacked and it has now been taken down. Yes, the California-based tech giant which has been promoting user safety and security across its platform was targeted and wrongdoers were successful in their attempt.

Speaking more, it was the YouTube channel for Google India that was hacked and a cryptocurrency promoting video was being streamed via the platform. Following this, the channel was removed from YouTube as it violated community guidelines and it is not active anymore. Moreover, many of the brand’s blogs and news posts that have been shared over the years are now filled with broken embeds as the source (Google India YouTube channel) has been removed.

What should be understood is that, this incident is a strong reminder that again reiterates the fact that no one – be it a big tech firm or an individual, is safe on any online platforms, and everyone is vulnerable to such malicious activities. Google hasn’t yet responded or commented on what has happened and about the counter measures the brand is planning to take, however this serves to be a warning for all.
