Here’s the full story
Flipkart goods worth Rs 1.21 crore were stolen
The complaint is filed by Pritam Sharma, a resident of Haryana and field operations executive with Camion Logistics Solutions Pvt. Ltd. (the truck was operated by this company). In the complaint, it is mentioned that the truck was loaded with 11,677 pieces of goods on September 27, from Bhiwandi, Mumbai, and was dispatched to the Flipkart warehouse in Mohanpur, Khanna.
It is revealed that when the truck reached the warehouse, its driver, Nasir, and Chet (the driver’s helper) parked the vehicle at the warehouse and left the premises. Later, the company staff member Amardeep Singh called Pritam Sharma and informed him that when the consignment was scanned, 234 items were found missing.
The stolen items included 221 iPhones, 5 other mobile phones, clothes, engineers, headphones, moisturizers, perfumes, and soaps with a total value estimated at Rs 1,21,68,373. It is now alleged that the theft was committed in collusion by the driver and the helper.
DSP Amritpal Singh Bhati mentioned that the matter is being investigated and the camera footage is also being examined. Though he did raise suspicion about how the digital lock opened, which was fitted in Mumbai? As usual, the lock’s password is not shared with drivers or other staff members and can only be opened by authorized warehouse officially upon delivery.
The company has launched an internal investigation and is reviewing its cargo tracking system, while the police have also started the search for the accused driver and his helper.
