Bautista wrote: “Haven’t found the words yet. It ended so suddenly and I was on to my next film before I could process it all. End of a journey that changed my life.” Dave initially appeared as Drax in James Gunn’s 2014 picture ‘Guardians of the Galaxy,’ which he wrote and directed. In the 2017 films ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’, ‘Avengers: Infinity War,’ and ‘Avengers: Endgame,’ he reprised his role.

Following his appearances in ‘Thor: Love and Thunder and the Guardian’s holiday special, Bautista is set to play the character for the final time in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’ next year.

Karen Gillian, Pom Klementieff, and other cast members of James Gunn’s film turned to social media to commemorate the film’s completion. Gunn confirmed the completion of primary photography and promised that an “unannounced actor” will make an appearance in the Marvel flick. Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Sylvester Stallone, and Will Poulter are scheduled to star in the third and final installment of Gunn’s Guardians franchise.  The first two films in the franchise, ‘Guardians of the Galaxy (2014) and ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’ (2017), grossed over $1.6 billion globally.
