Sidharth Shukla, a popular television and film actor best known for his part in the long-running TV programme Balika Vadhu and as the winner of Bigg Boss 13, died on Thursday, according to a source at Mumbai’s Cooper Hospital. He was 40 years old at the time.
According to reports, Sidharth Shukla had a severe heart attack in the morning and was sent to the hospital about 11 a.m. His mother and two sisters are his only survivors. A top Cooper Hospital officer informed PTI, “He was taken dead to the hospital some time ago.”
Actor Manoj Bajpayee paid homage on Twitter. He penned, “OMGOSH!!! This is mind-boggling!!! Words can’t express the sorrow and grief he feels at the death of his loved ones!!! I wish him to rest in peace!!! Yaar yaar yaar yaar yaar ya” “Om Shanti,” his Bigg Boss co-contestant Himanshi Khurana tweeted. In a subsequent tweet, she said, “Oh, my goodness. It’s difficult to believe. Sidharth Shukla, rest in peace.”
Sunil Grover, a comedian and actor, tweeted, “Sidharth Shukla’s death has shocked and saddened me. He left us far too soon. Prayers. Rest in peace, my friend.” Nimrat Kaur, an actress, tweeted, “Heartfelt condolences to late Sidharth Shukla’s family. News that is both surprising and disturbing….” Maniesh Paul, Koena Mitra, Bipasha Basu, and a slew of other celebrities flocked to the event.
Sidharth Shukla made his acting debut in the 2008 programme Babul Ka Aangann Chootey Na, in which he played the lead character. In 2014, he made his Bollywood debut in Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, playing a supporting part. He was crowned the champion of Bigg Boss 13 and Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 7. He was the host of Savdhaan India and India’s Got Talent, among other shows.
Sidharth was also renowned for his close connection with Bigg Boss co-contestant Shehnaaz Gill, which was said to be amorous. The rumoured pair featured in numerous famous music videos together, and their legions of admirers dubbed them ‘Sidnaaz.’
