It is the start of the year and just 2 weeks have passed now and the process of being laid off hasn’t stopped till now. According to Debarghya Sil an INC42 reporter in just 2 weeks on January 2023 around 1400 employees have been laid off from the Indian startups.

People laid off from these Indian Startups in the first 2 weeks of 2023

ShareChat – 500

ShareChat was founded on 8th January 2015 by Ankush Sachdeva, Bhanu Pratap Singh, and Farid Ahsan. Ankush Sachdeva is the current CEO of the company. In the starting 2 weeks of January 2023, Snapchat laid off around 500 employees.

Ola – 200

OLA was founded on 3rd December 2010 by Ankit Bhati and Bhavish Aggarwal. It is an Indian multinational ridesharing company. In the starting 2 weeks of January 2023, Ola laid off around 200 employees.

Bounce – 200

Bounce was founded in 2014. It is an Indian smart mobility company and the operator of the only dockless self-drive scooter service. In the starting 2 weeks of January 2023, Bounce laid off around 200 employees.

Skit ai – 115

In the starting 2 weeks of January 2023, Skit ai laid off around 115 employees.

Dunzo – 90

Dunzo was founded in July 2014. It is a company that delivers groceries and essentials, fruits and vegetables, meat, pet supplies, food, and medicines. In the starting 2 weeks of January 2023, Donzo laid off around 90 employees.

LEAD – 60

In the starting 2 weeks of January 2023, LEAD laid off around 60 employees.

Harappa – 60

In the starting 2 weeks of January 2023, Harappa laid off around 60 employees.

Rebel Foods – 50

Rebel Foods was founded in 2011. It is an online restaurant company that operates 11 cloud kitchen brands including Faasos, Behrouz Biryani, and Oven Story. In the starting 2 weeks of January 2023, Rebel Foods laid off around 50 employees

Relevel – 40

In the starting 2 weeks of January 2023, Relevel laid off around 40 employees.

Moglix – 40

Upscalio – 25
