Bill Gates’ worth today and what it could have been?

Bill Gates is a well known name around the world and has been often counted as the world’s richest person. He is one of the co-founders of the software company Microsoft. Apart from this, he is also known for working as a philanthropist.

Bill Gates co-founded Microsoft with Paul Allen in 1975. At the time, the company focused on developing personal computer software. As the company gained popularity it started dominating the world of computers at a faster rate. As a result, it has become one of the biggest tech companies of the world and remains on the top.

Consequently, Bill Gates became one of the world’s richest men. In February 2014, he stepped down as chairman of Microsoft and now works as the Microsoft technology adviser and mentor.

Bill Gates became the first person with a 12-figure net worth in April 1999. When Microsoft’s stock was at all-time highs, his net worth was greater than $100 billion. Bill Gates, along with Jeff Bezos, were the first to be worth over $100 billion in history, as reported by New Trader U.

A twitter post from Fintwit news brought attention back to Bill Gates’ wealth. They tweeted and informed how Bill Gates would have been worth more than $1 trillion if he still had his Microsoft shares. The shares were divided as he became friends with Warren Buffett and decided to diversify his portfolio from late 2021 onwards.

The tweet mentions how Bill Gates’ worth is “only” $110 billion today, which is really amusing because their “only” is someone’s impossibility.
