YouTube has officially revealed that it now accounts for 12.5% of all TV viewing. The company has also released a few new updates for the YouTube TV app.
New updates for the YouTube TV app
The Coachella 2026 music and arts festival will be held next week, and the tickets for this festival have already sold out. This festival will also be livestreamed on YouTube. In addition to the livestream, viewers will have access to “Coachella TV,” a 24/7 linear stream programmed with videos from artists performing at the festival. The station will be updated with performance highlights following each weekend.
Reportedly, YouTube quietly started testing stations with around 40 bands and musicians in recent weeks, and plans to make the feature available widely in the future. Bruno Mars is one of the early adopters of this feature and is currently promoting his new album with a YouTube Station.
It is said that, to a view, a station looks a lot like a live broadcast, complete with an audience chat.
Apart from the YouTube Stations, you can now use your remote to ask questions about a video you are watching without hitting pause, like, “What ingredients can I substitute in this recipe?”
It is also announced that soon the company will release an easier way to sync their phone and TV automatically, and no manual WiFi pairing will be required.
