New experimental features for YouTube Premium subscribers
Auto-speed
This feature will automatically adjust the playback speed throughout the video you are watching. It is only available for English-language videos on Android and iOS. The auto-speed will automatically be disabled and hidden for videos that are not supported.
How to use it?
Enable auto-speed by navigating to the playback speed control menu on the watch player and toggling the Auto Speed option on.
On-the-go
With on-the-go, you can enjoy your favourite podcasts, talk shows, true crime series and more for easy listening anywhere. This feature is only available on Android mobile phones.
How to use it?
There are 2 ways to activate on-the-go mode:
- Automatic, motion-sensored prompt- If motion is detected (e.g., walking, running) for at least 60 seconds while you are listening to or watching a video with your phone unlocked, a prompt may appear asking if you want to switch to On-the-go mode.
- Manual activation- You can enable it any time by tapping on Player settings on the video watch page and selecting On-the-go.
