WhatsApp iOS App Version 25.28.75 Brings New Liquid Glass Design to Certain Users

Meta’s WhatsApp has now started rolling out a new app version for its iOS users, bringing the new Liquid Glass design of Apple. Notably, design aspects like the dynamic transparency, fluid interactions, as well as the depth effects have been brought to the app.
Here’s more about it.
WhatsApp’s Latest App Version Brings the New Liquid Glass Design for iOS Users
Previously, it was reported that WhatsApp was working on a new user interface inspired by Apple’s Liquid Glass design which the brand introduced via its iOS 26 operating system and a month later, it is now being made available to certain users. With the WhatsApp v25.28.75 update for iOS users, this new Liquid Glass visual framework is being brought out, however reportedly only a few users (including beta testers) have only received it so far. Soon, a broader roll-out can also be expected.
Speaking more about the design change, WhatsApp has adopted design elements that showcases transparency and layering effects, and it is most evident with the tab bar at the bottom. The tab bar now exhibits a Liquid Glass design and it appears to float above the main content. A semi-translucent design featuring icons having smooth animations when it is tapped is the biggest highlight, and this tab bar design is compatible with both light and dark themes. It will also automatically adjust based on the size of the screen and its orientation.
Also, the new app version has adopted the native keyboard and buttons of the system, featuring the translucent and reflective design elements, and thus bringing a consistent design experience. Additionally, the same design changes can also be found in WhatsApp’s context menu too. It should also be noted that while there are noticeable changes, some areas of the app still remain unchanged, particularly the chat bar. In terms of improvements and bug fixes, a lot has been fixed, thereby ensuring both performance and reliability.
