Users can now add Polls in group chats on the Signal app

Signal app is a free messaging app that comes with strong end-to-end encryption that keeps your communication completely private. Users can send texts, voice messages, photos, videos, files, and also make voice and video calls to their friends.

Recently, this app has received a new update- Polls for group chat so that you can see what the other members in the group think or feel about a particular topic (like whether to text your ex, a place for vacation, dinner plans, and more).

How to create Polls?

  • Tap the + button when composing a message to a group chat
  • Fill in your poll question and up to 10 options for people to choose between. (Once you make the poll, you can decide if people can vote for multiple options in your poll or just one.)
  • When you are ready, end the poll to stop collecting responses by tapping View Votes.

Polls are end-to-end encrypted and only visible to members of the group chat, but poll responses are not anonymous, and anyone can see who has voted for which option in a poll.

Availability

Polls feature is available in the latest versions of Signal for Android, Desktop, and iOS.
