Spotify announces price increase for its Premium subscription across the US, Estonia and Latvia from next month

Yesterday, Spotify announced in a blog post that the company is raising the Premium subscription price in selected global markets.
Starting the billing date in February, the Premium subscription (Individual) will change from $11.99 per month to $12.99 per month in the US, Estonia, and Latvia markets. The Premium subscribers in these regions will receive the following email informing them about this update and what this update means for their subscriptions.

According to the company, this update in pricing is done to deliver a great experience. With Premium, you get access to exclusive features like ad-free music listening, download music offline, offline backup, play songs in any order, very high audio quality, stream in lossless audio, watch music videos uninterrupted, discover and listen to audiobooks, listen to your very own DJ, create playlists with AI, host a Jam, get more from K-Pop ON, DJ Integration and mix your favorite playlists. These features enhance your overall listening experience.
Other premium plan prices are as follows:
- Student- $6.99/month
- Duo- $18.99/month
- Family- $21.99/month
As per Spotify, these occasional updates to pricing are necessary to keep improving the service and to continue offering the best possible experience and benefit to artists.
