Samsung releases Home Up app update applicable to One UI 8.5

The South Korean tech giant Samsung has officially started the beta testing of One UI 8.5 for the Galaxy S25 series, and it was previously announced that Samsung will soon launch One UI 8.5-based Home Up for Galaxy users.

As announced, the company has finally released an update for the Home Up app that applies to devices running One UI 8.5.

The update arrives with version 17.5.00.18 and includes several improvements:

  • Add Settings feature to ‘Home Screen’ app icons, widgets, and large folders
  • Added integrated (Apps, Tasks, People) panel
  • Fold device: Added the ability to adjust the number of favourites on the cover screen
  • Adds On/Off function to switch between previous apps using gestures
  • Adds a feature to exclude specific items from direct sharing in the sharing pop-up
  • Improved misalignment of ‘DIY Home’ layout
  • Improved data initialisation issue with the ‘Backup and Restore’ widget

Anyone who wants to try this new update, tipster @UniverseIce has shared the download link. He also revealed that when you turn on the Blur function in the latest Home Up version, it will cause the animation to get stuck.

In related news, Samsung is expected to introduce its One UI 8.5 custom skin (stable version) with the upcoming Galaxy S26 smartphone series, which is rumoured to launch next month.
