OpenAI introduced its latest and most advanced model, GPT-5 at the beginning of this month. GPT-5 is a unified system with a smart, efficient model that answers most questions, a deeper reasoning model (GPT-5 thinking) for harder problems, and a real-time router that quickly decides which to use based on conversation type, complexity, tool needs, and your explicit intent.
It is now announced that a friendlier GPT-5 personality will be rolled out over the next few days. Users will notice subtle phrases like Good question or Great Start.

This change will be introduced based on the feedback from the users who felt that the GPT-5 model felt more formal. So with this new change, the model will feel more approachable now. OpenAI’s CEO mentioned that the company is working on letting users customize ChatGPT’s style much more.
A few days back, a big update was announced for the GPT-5 model, as per which users can now choose between Auto, Fast, and Thinking modes, rate limits are now 3,000 messages/week with GPT-5 Thinking, and then extra capacity on GPT-5 Thinking mini after that limit. Context limit for GPT-5 Thinking is 196k tokens, while the 4o model is again introduced in the model picker for all paid users by default.
The company is also working on a few more updates for the GPT-5 model and will be revealing them in the future.
