Ministry of Education directs officials to adopt Zoho Official Suite to support Atmanirbhar Bharat and Swadeshi movement
Zoho Office Suite is an online office platform developed by Zoho Corporation that helps to create, edit, and share documents, spreadsheets, presentations, and more, all in one secure place. This work is carried out by tools like Zoho Writer, Zoho Sheet, Zoho Show, and Zoho Workdrive.
In a strategic move, the Ministry of Education (Department of Higher Education) has now issued an office memorandum directing all officials to adopt the Zoho Office Suite, which is incorporated in the NIC mail system, for creating and managing official documents, spreadsheets, and presentations.
This is in alignment with the Government of India’s broader vision of transforming the nation from a service economy into a product nation and for building a self-reliant ecosystem in technology, hardware, and software solutions.
The Ministry stated, “By embracing Zoho’s indigenous office productivity tools, we take a bold step in the Swadeshi movement, empowering India to lead with homegrown innovation, strengthen digital sovereignty, and secure our data for a self-reliant future.”
The officials are directed-
- To access Zoho Office Suite directly via the NIC mail accounts
- All official documents, spreadsheets, and presentations shall henceforth be created, edited, and shared using Zoho Office Suite
- To familiarize themselves with the suite’s features and make effective use of the collaborative tools available
- The CMIS/NIC will provide necessary support and guidance for the usage, including on-site support. (CMIS-311, NIC-335)
