Meta introduces Ghost posts on Threads that automatically archive after 24 hours

Two years back, Meta’s Instagram launched its own microblogging platform, Threads, and the platform became quite famous among users. Threads uses the user base of Instagram itself, and lately, Meta has introduced various interesting features for the platform, like text attachments, hiding media or text in posts.

Recently, Meta introduced Ghost posts on Threads that are automatically archived after 24 hours, so you can share unfiltered thoughts and fresh takes without the pressure of performance and polish.

The replies to the ghost posts are sent to your messaging inbox, and only you can see who liked and replied to that post.

How to Ghost post?

  • Open Threads and tap the new post button.
  • Toggle on the ghost post icon next to the post button
  • Create your post and hit the Post button

Your ghost post is now created and will be archived after 24 hours. The host posts are highly noticeable as they’re outlined in a dashed border. There is also a time indicator at the bottom of the post that showcases how much of that 24-hour timeframe has passed.
