Instagram and WhatsApp are among the most highly used platforms whether for personal use or business purposes. In a recent development, it was revealed that Instagram has come up with a new innovative feature that will lead users directly to WhatsApp chat.
App researcher Radu Oncescu has revealed on the Threads platform that Instagram has added a new Whatsapp sticker for stories, that will lead users directly to a private Whatsapp chat when clicked.
As revealed above, this new sticker is present in the Stories sticker tray. This sticker lets you link your Whatsapp account by providing your phone number for verification. This new sticker will be of great help for businesses who use Instagram to promote their services and products as you can link the sticker with your Whatsapp business account so that when a user views your Instagram story and taps on the sticker, they are redirected to a Whatsapp conversation with the company.
For businesses, this new feature will help to drive more direct discussion with potential customers while interested customers will not have to enter a phone number manually or search for contact information online.
However this new WhatsApp sticker seems to gradually rolling out to users as when I searched for this feature on my Instagram account, it was currently unavailable.
