Grok 4 Now Available for Free to All Users Worldwide With the New ‘Auto/Expert Mode’
xAI – the American AI tech brand as part of increasing its user base is now offering its latest Grok 4 AI assistant free of cost to all users across the world. Two new modes have also been introduced for it.

Grok 4 – Accessible for Free Without Any Subscription?
Just recently, we saw xAI upgrading the PDF processing capability of its Grok 4 AI assistant and had also started offering its Imagine image/video generation model for free to all users. Both of these measures are believed to be attempts to strategically increase xAI’s existing user base and also to find its place at the top of the AI tech industry. It could probably be with this same idea in mind that xAI has introduced the new ‘Auto’ and ‘Expert’ modes on Grok, which now lets users access the latest Grok 4 absolutely free of cost.
Speaking more, with Auto mode, depending on the user queries, Grok will find the best model for its users and when answering to complex queries, it will automatically route it to Grok 4. On the other hand, the Expert mode will rely only on Grok 4 to answer to user queries. However, do note that while xAI claims free access to all users, Grok 4 will only be available for a limited time in such a way (~ free access time period not specified, and it is still unclear till when xAI plans to offer it). Additionally, a daily usage limit has also been set for free access and users are restricted to 5 daily requests.
In a bigger picture, while the free access would potentially increase xAI’s user base, the decision of making Grok 4 available for free will also allow many to know the true potential of an advanced AI model and how it could make a change in their day-to-day life, thereby boosting the long-term user engagement on its platform.
