Google Play Service Gets Feb 2026 Update with Improved Earthquake Alert Visuals and More

Google has officially rolled out the February 2026 system updates, continuing its trend of silent “micro-updates” that enhance your device’s core functionality without requiring a manual restart.

Google Play Services Feb 2026 Update released – Here is what is new

The Google Play Services update for the month of Feb 2026 has been released with a total of three micro updates having version numbers as V26.04, V26.05 and V26.06. Out of these, the version number v26.06 brings improvements to device connectivity and system management across phones, TVs, cars, PCs, and Wear OS devices. Further adding to this, this update also brings improvement in the earthquake alert visuals to make them clearer. Along with this, a new local file backup feature has also been added, which allows downloaded documents to be automatically saved to Google Drive, making files and documents accessible across devices.

Lastly, the V26.06 update aims to improve battery life, storage usage, and network efficiency on phones and TVs. While these updates install automatically, you can manually check your status by heading to Settings > Security & Privacy > System & updates > Google Play system update.
