Google launches a new search feature- Preferred Sources that lets you see more of the sites you love in Top Stories

Most of us have some reliable sites and sources on Google that we rely on for news and information. Taking these preferences of each individual into consideration, Google has introduced a new search feature called Preferred Sources.

This feature is launched in the US and India, while it will be broadly available in the coming days. With Preferred Sources, you can select your favorite sources and stay up to date on the latest content from the sites you follow and subscribe to.

How to select your sources?

  • Search for a topic that’s in the news and click on the icon to the right of Top Stories.

  • Search and select your preferred sources.

  • Refresh your results and see more from your favorite sites.

Do note that you will still see content from other sites, and can manage your selections at any time. After adding your preferred source, you will start to see more of their articles prominently displayed within Top Stories or in a dedicated “From your sources” section on the search results page, when those sources have published fresh and relevant content for your search.
