Gemini in Chrome’s latest AI features
Chat with your browsing assistant without switching tabs
With Gemini in Chrome, you can multitask with ease and instantly get help with whatever you’re working on, without ever having to switch tabs. Just click the icon in the top right corner of your current tab and start chatting with your personalised browsing assistant.
Chrome’s built-in AI can help you summarise lengthy web content, perform tasks and even remember pages you’ve previously visited.
Built-in integrations
With integrations across Gmail, Maps, Calendar, YouTube and more, Chrome gives you the best Google has to offer, directly in your browser. With a few clicks, schedule meetings on your calendar, see location details from Maps, ask questions about YouTube videos, and compose and send emails without leaving your current page.
Get work done faster across tabs
Gemini in Chrome can also work across multiple open tabs, so you can easily cross-reference and consolidate information into a single view.
Transform images on the web with Nano Banana
Nano Banana 2 is built directly into Gemini, so you can transform images. Type a prompt in the side panel to explain what you’re trying to do. Nano Banana 2 will do the rest, transforming the image without needing to upload files or open a new tab.
To ensure safety, Google has trained its models to recognise known threats like prompt injection. Users will also be asked for confirmation before certain sensitive actions like sending an email or adding an event to their calendar. The company uses automated red-teaming to continually strengthen its protections.
Availability
These features, which are built on Gemini 3.1, will first be available in India, New Zealand and Canada on desktop and iOS. On Android, you can activate Gemini when using Chrome and other apps by holding the power button.
Gemini in Chrome is available for signed-in users (18+). Auto-browse feature remains available to Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers in the US.
