Enhanced detection for automated accounts and spam announced for X (formerly Twitter)

Lately, there have been various cases heard where users are taking advantage of AI to increase their engagement on social media platforms. Like artificially inflating likes, retweets, replies, views and follows, often generated by bots, automated scripts, click farms or paid services.

The X (formerly Twitter) platform is currently facing this issue, and to combat the fake engagement, Nikita Beir, X’s head of product, has made a new announcement.

Enhanced detection for automation and spam is being rolled out on the X platform. It is revealed that if a human is not tapping on the screen, the account and all associated accounts will likely be suspended, even if you are just experimenting like a bot experiment. Users are recommended to hold off on plugging in their bots, and if it’s critical, they are advised to use the official API.

Further in the comment section, Nikita has specified that any form of scraping or search that is automated will get caught currently. It also said that more updates will be released later against the increasing artificial engagement cases.
