Projects now available on ChatGPT Free Tier; Large file uploads and new customization options also introduced

Today, OpenAI has officially announced that its Project feature is now available to free users of ChatGPT. Apart from making Projects available to free users, the company is also rolling out several new improvements.

Projects in ChatGPT are now available to Free users.

– Larger file uploads per project (up to 5 for Free, 25 for Plus, 40 for Pro/Business/Enterprise)
– Option to select colors and icons for more customization

Project feature now available for ChatGPT Free tier

Projects are smart workspaces that keep everything related to a long-running effort in one place. With memory, context, and flexible tools, they’re ideal for repeated and evolving work such as writing, research, planning, and more. The projects feature has built-in memory, which means that it remembers all the chats and files you have created or uploaded in a project.

Projects feature is now made available to ChatGPT free users. Along with making Projects available, OpenAI is also rolling out several new improvements for ChatGPT users.

Other new improvements

Larger file uploads per project (up to 5 for free users, 25 for Plus users, 40 for Pro/Business/Enterprise users).
You can now choose colors and icons for more customization.
Project-only memory controls for a more tailored context.

The new features are now live for Web and Android users, while the company has also announced that these features will be rolled out for iOS users over the coming days.
