Perplexity releases an Advanced Deep Research version and a new Deep Research UI for its users; New digital wallpapers also introduced for Perplexity users

Last year, Perplexity introduced Deep Research mode, designed to save users’ time by conducting in-depth research and analysis on their behalf. Well, the company has now started rolling out an Advanced version of Deep Research.

This upgraded version has achieved state-of-the-art performance on external and internal benchmarks. The Advanced Perplexity Deep Research is revealed to outperform every other tool on verticals where decisions are being made (finance, legal, health, shopping, technology, science). To ensure a consistent experience, every Advanced Deep Research query will run using Opus 4.5 and the same agentic harness and toolkit.
The company has also released DRACO– a cross-domain benchmark for Deep Research Accuracy, Completeness, and Objectivity. The DRACO benchmark comprises 100 carefully curated tasks spanning Academic, Finance, Law, Medicine, Technology, General Knowledge, UX Design, Personalised assistant, Shopping/Product comparison, and Needle in a Haystack, each paired with an expert-crafted rubric that averages ~40 evaluation criteria.
The Advanced Deep Research has achieved state-of the-art performance by topping Google DeepMind Deep Search QA leaderboard with 79.5% and Scale AI Research Rubric with 70.2%, while this new upgrade has also topped the DRACO benchmark with 67.15%.
Availability
The Advanced Deep Research upgrade is available to all Max users with higher usage limits, and it will be gradually rolled out to Pro users as well. Meanwhile, the DRACO Benchmark is fully open source now. The company is releasing the complete benchmark, all rubrics, and the judge prompt. The DRACO Benchmark and dataset are available on Hugging Face.
After the rollout of an advanced Deep Research version, a new Deep Research UI is also shipped for the users that features a dark-mode dashboard with interactive sections for queries.

This new UI is said to offer a more polished experience to the users.
Apart from these new releases, a digital wallpaper collection that includes 39 original artworks from the Perplexity creative studio.
