Back in July, Perplexity launched its AI-powered Comet browser, and as per the company, they witnessed that users loved the Comet Assistant and used it for tasks like planning a trip, managing job searches, online chores and more.
Looking at this, Perplexity has now launched a completely reimagined Comet Assistant for all users. Let’s get to know more about what’s new.
Comet Assistant
Comet Assistant has got new tools for perceiving and interacting with web environments. It can help you with a wider variety of tasks and can work across multiple tabs when something needs context from different sources.
The internal tests have revealed that the revamped Comet Assistant performs 23% better than its predecessor. Users can delegate some complex tasks to the upgraded Comet Assistant, like:
- Organize your job search
- Find the best travel deals
- Keep track of your child’s school attendance by asking the assistant to create a Google Sheet with a week-by-week breakdown
The Preplexity team has also improved how Comet Assistant asks for your permission. Now, when you make a request that would work better by interacting with your browser, Comet will ask you first. You can choose whether you want Comet to run the task directly in your browser or not. Whatever you choose, Comet will follow that preference throughout the entire task.
