OnePlus Launches New AI PlayLab Programme for Testing Upcoming AI Features

OnePlus has launched a new programme for testing upcoming AI features on its smartphones. The programme, called AI PlayLab, allows interested users to apply for early access to AI features before they are rolled out to the general public. Users can also share their own ideas for new features through the programme.
To apply, you need to fill out a form, and if accepted, you will receive further details. Two new features have already been added in the AI PlayLab — YumSee and PartyUp.
YumSee
YumSee is an AI-powered translator that helps you translate text-based menus. It not only scans and translates the menu but also generates an AI-created image of the dish, showing how it looks and listing the included ingredients. In addition, it converts the dish’s local currency into the one you choose. YumSee also allows you to share the translated menu with friends on WhatsApp groups.

Here’s how YumSee works:
Snap: Upload or take a photo of the menu.
Select: Choose your preferred language and currency.
See: Watch as YumSee cleans the text, translates it, and generates realistic images tailored to the restaurant’s regional cuisine.
Savor: Browse the visual menu, order with confidence, and enjoy.
PartyUP
PartyUp is another feature that turns your images into party-themed videos. You can upload a photo, select a template, and the AI will automatically create a themed video for you. Some of the templates include Party Dance, Party Cheers, and Birthday Party.

Here’s how PartyUp works:
Upload: Choose a photo with friends or family.
Choose Your Vibe: Select a template such as Party Dance, Party Cheers, or Birthday Party.
Create: The AI detects subjects, applies natural motion, and adds effects, lighting, and beat-synced cuts.
Share: Instantly download a share-ready video that captures the joy of the moment.
For the best results, make sure that when using YumSee, the menu image is clear. For PartyUp, ensure the face in the photo is visible with some background space. Neither of these features are being rolled out yet, but after testing, they are expected to be made available to the general public.
For those who are not accepted into the programme, you can still share your feature ideas via the OnePlus AI Circle community page.
