Grok 4 now available for Perplexity Pro and Max subscribers; Real time crypto data from Coinbase available on Perplexity Finance

Yesterday, xAI officially released its Grok 4 model with two modes- Grok 4 and Grok 4 Heavy. Perplexity AI has officially announced that Grok 4 is now available for Perplexity Pro and Max subscribers.

Grok 4 is said to be capable of responding and taking up tasks in every subject at the PhD level. It comes with advanced reasoning, writing, and coding tasks. It was revealed that, on the Humanity’s Last Exam test, Grok 4 has attained a 25.4% score without tools, and with the use of tools, it scored 44.4%. Perplexity AI CEO, Aravind Srinivas, revealed that mobile users will need an update to use the Grok 4 model.

Apart from the Grok 4 model, it is also announced that real-time crypto data from Coinbase is now available on Perplexity Finance.

Perplexity AI and Coinbase have partnered to help traders get access to real-time, trusted crypto data/info for better decision making. In Phase 1, Perplexity is ingesting market data, including COIN50, and using it to power market analysis. Users can double-click into price moves to help make better informed trade decisions.

In Phase 2, which will be coming soon, Coinbase’s market data will be used in Perplexity’s responses to user queries. Traders will be able to monitor market activity, screen for trade ideas, and analyze token-specific moves in an AI-powered conversational interface.

This new access to reliable real-time data via LLMs is said to help people make smart, informed decisions about crypto.
