Google’s Nano Banana 2 Promises Faster Results and More Accurate AI Images
After releasing Nano Banana (Gemini 2.5 Flash) in August 2025 and Nano Banana Pro (Gemini 3 Pro) in November 2025, Google has now introduced its newest image creation model called Nano Banana 2, which is based on Gemini 3.1 Flash Image.
Here is more to it.
Nano Banana 2 – Featres
Nano Banana 2 is much faster compared to its previous versions and can offer more accurate and high-quality images. Google says that it can perform web searches while designing images for you, which helps create more accurate infographics, diagrams, or data visuals.

Moving on, text translation and readability have also been improved in Nano Banana 2. Through this, you can generate clear and readable text for posters, ads, and more. Along with this, in the press release, Google also shared some pictures made by it, and they do look far better than Nano Banana Pro. In one of the images, it shows a side-by-side comparison of a castle created by both models, and out of the two, the Nano Banana 2 offers better clarity compared to the Nano Banana Pro version.

Google says that through this new model, users can keep up to five characters and 14 objects looking the same in one project. This makes it easier to create storyboards or multiple images without changing how things look.
Another important thing is that this new model will follow instructions more carefully. This means that if you give detailed requests, it is more likely to create exactly what you ask for. Adding more to this, it now supports different aspect ratios and resolutions from 512px up to 4K, with better lighting, sharper details, and richer textures.
Availability
Nano Banana 2 is now rolling out across Google products like the Gemini app, Google Search (AI Mode and Lens), AI Studio, Gemini API, Google Cloud via Vertex AI, Flow, and Google Ads. In Google Search, through both AI Mode and Lens, it is available via the Google app as well as on mobile and desktop browsers. As per Google’s support page, this availability will expand to 141 new countries and territories, along with support for eight additional languages.
On Google Cloud, Nano Banana 2 is available in preview with the Gemini API in Vertex AI. In Flow, Nano Banana 2 is the new default image generation model and is available to all Flow users at zero credits. In Google Ads, Nano Banana 2 is available and provides suggestions while creating campaigns.
In the Gemini app, Nano Banana Pro is going to be replaced by Nano Banana 2 across Fast, Thinking, and Pro models. However, Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers will still have access to Nano Banana Pro to regenerate images by clicking on the three dots and selecting “Redo with Pro.” There is also a support page that mentions that if you reach your daily quota of Nano Banana 2 images, you cannot redo any additional images with Nano Banana Pro.
