Google introduces new agentic features and personalized responses to AI Mode in Search; AI Mode expands globally

Last month, Google introduced some new features for AI Mode in Search– Canvas for planning, Search live, Search while browsing, and ask questions about images and PDFs. And now yesterday, the company introduced some advanced agentic and personalized capabilities to AI mode.

Google is also expanding AI Mode in Search to more people globally. Let’s dive in to know about the new capabilities in AI Mode.
AI Mode: New agentic capabilities and personalized responses
Agentic capabilities
These capabilities in AI Mode can help you get things done more easily. Initially, the company has started to roll out the new agentic capabilities for finding restaurant reservations, and soon it will be expanded for local service appointments and event tickets.
For example, you can now ask about getting a dinner reservation with friends that includes multiple constraints and preferences like party size, date, time, location, and preferred cuisine, and AI Mode will streamline this process. Searching across multiple reservation platforms and websites, it will find real-time availability for restaurants that meet your specific needs and then present you with a curated list of restaurants with available reservation slots to choose from. AI Mode does the legwork and links you directly to the booking page, so you can easily take the last step and finalize your reservation.
AI Mode uses the live web browsing capabilities of Project Mariner, direct partner integrations on Search, and the power of Knowledge Graph and Google Maps to help users take action on the map.
This new capability is rolling out for Google AI Ultra subscribers in the US through the Agentic Capabilities in AI Mode experiment in Labs.
Personalized recommendations
People in the US who have opted into the AI Mode experiment in Labs will see results tailored to their personal preferences and interests. The company is starting with dining-related topics, helping users discover new restaurants and cafes that match their unique tastes.
AI Mode can use your previous conversations, along with places you have searched for or tapped in Search and Maps, to deliver more relevant options, personalized for you. Though you are in control of what context you share with Google, and can adjust your personalization settings in your Google Account at any time.
Explore and collaborate with your friends and family
With the new link-sharing capability in the US, you can now share anything you are inspired by in AI Mode with friends and family. Just tap the Share button, and your contacts can jump into the AI Mode response right where you left off, ask follow-up questions, and continue exploring on their own. As the sender, you are always in control of your shared links and can delete them at any time.
AI Mode expands globally
AI Mode is already available in the US, India, and the UK, and it is now being expanded to over 180 new countries and territories in English. In the future, AI Mode will be expanded to even more languages and regions.
