Gemini Robotics 1.5 and Gemini Robotics-ER 1.5 Introduced, Bringing an Era of Physical AI Agents: Gemini Robotics-ER 1.5 Now Available to Developers

Google DeepMind has now introduced two new models: Gemini Robotics 1.5 and Gemini Robotics-ER 1.5. These latest AI models are aimed to unlock the agentic experiences with advanced thinking, thereby bringing in an era of physical AI agents.
Read more about the two newly-introduced models and their features below.
Google DeepMind’s Gemini Robotics 1.5 and Gemini Robotics-ER 1.5 Models Introduced
The Gemini Robotics 1.5 has been brought out as the brand’s most capable VLA (vision-language-action) model, and it can be used to turn visual information and instructions into the commands for a robot. Notably, the model first thinks prior to taking any actions, and the whole process is shown before the robot to help it assess and complete the given tasks. Also, with learning across embodiments, skill learning can be accelerated as well.
Regarding the Gemini Robotics-ER 1.5, this VLA (vision-language-action) model is capable of reasoning better about the physical world and for completing a mission, it can natively call digital tools (like Google Search) and create detailed multi-step action plans. In benchmarks, the model has also achieved the best performance scores for spatial understanding. Fast and powerful spatial reasoning (2D point generation, temporal reasoning), advanced agentic behaviors, flexible thinking budgets, and improved safety filters (semantic safety, physical constraint awareness) are its notable aspects.
For all developers, the Gemini Robotics-ER 1.5 has been made available and starting on the 25th of September 2025 (yesterday), it can be accessed in preview through Google AI Studio and Gemini API.
Speaking of a few other related news, at the recently-held Snapdragon Summit, it was hinted that Google is working on an Android-based PC. New AI features were also introduced for Google Chrome last week, making it smarter, safer, and more useful. In the last week, a new Pixel Drop was also rolled out, bringing Nano Banana in the Gemini app.
Stay tuned for more updates.
