Apple Fitness+ launching in India and few other countries on 15th December

The award-winning fitness and wellness service, Apple Fitness+, will finally be making its way into the Indian market. Yesterday, Apple officially announced that Apple Fitness+ will be launching in India and a few other countries on December 15th. This is a part of the service’s largest expansion since its launch in 2020.

With this expansion, users in 49 countries and regions around the world can access the service’s 12 different workout types- Strength, Yoga, HIIT, Pilates, Dance, Cycling, Kickboxing, and Meditation, with episodes ranging from 5 to 45 minutes on iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV.

Fitness+: Features

  • Custom Plans lets you follow a personalised schedule. Stay Consistent offers a premade schedule that fits your routines. Push Further adds workout time or more sessions. Get started provides a ready-made plan to those new to Fitness+ on the activities they selected when they first started their subscription.
  • The Artist Spotlight series, which dedicates entire workout playlists to a single artist, features music from some of the world’s biggest artists, including Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, BTS, Selena Gomez, Coldplay, and more.
  • Apple’s award-winning audio experience on iPhone and Apple Watch, designed to help people walk more often, allows users to walk alongside some of the world’s most interesting and influential people as they share stories, photos, and songs. The latest episode, featuring Formula 1® driver Yuki Tsunoda, is available starting today.
  • Collections, a curated series of workouts and meditations from the Fitness+ library, are organised to help users reach their goals or find workouts that fit their interests.
  • Users can explore 12 unique meditation themes, including Calm, Sleep, and Sound, featuring easy-to-follow techniques that can help them recharge.
  • Users can supercharge their Fitness+ workouts with Apple Watch or use AirPods Pro 3 and view personal metrics directly onscreen, such as heart rate, calories burned, progress on their Activity rings, and the Burn Bar, which lets users compare their effort to others who have done the same workout.
  • Deep integration with Apple Music and inspiring music genres such as Upbeat Anthems, Latest Hits, K-Pop, Hip-Hop/R&B, and Latin Grooves.

Fitness+: Availability

In India, Apple Fitness+ will be available as a subscription service for INR 149 per month or INR 999 per year, and can be shared with up to 5 other family members. Apple Fitness+ requires an iPhone 8 or later with iOS 16.1 or later, or an Apple Watch Series 3 or later with watchOS 7.2 or later, paired with an iPhone 6s or later with iOS 14.3 or later.

Other than India, the service will also be made available in Chile, Hong Kong, the Netherlands, Norway, the Philippines, Poland, Singapore, Sweden, Taiwan, Vietnam, and 17 other countries and regions from 15th December.

Dubbing in German and Spanish will also be available beginning on 15th December. Fitness+ will be available in Japan beginning early next year, along with Japanese dubbing.
