Amazon Web Services to launch an AI agent marketplace in partnership with Anthropic on July 15

The Amazon Web Services (AWS) summit will be held on 15th July in New York, and it is reported that in this particular summit, AWS will launch an AI agent marketplace, and Anthropic is one of its partners.
In a report by TechCrunch, it is revealed that the company’s dedicated agent marketplace will allow startups to directly offer their AI agents to AWS customers. The marketplace will also allow enterprise customers to browse, install and look for AI agents based on their requirements from a single location. Anthropic will also be able to reach more customers, including those who may already use AI agents from its rivals, such as OpenAI.
This marketplace will be like a digital toolbox where startups and enterprises can pick ready-made AI solutions, plug them into their systems, and get to work. Startups building AI agents can list their creations on the AWS marketplace, where enterprise customers can browse based on specific needs. Once selected, these agents can be integrated into a company’s existing AWS setup, leveraging the cloud provider’s robust infrastructure. Developers can also use Anthropic’s API to create custom agents, which can then be distributed through the marketplace.
AWS will take a cut of the revenue that startups earn from agent installations; however, this share will be minimal compared to the marketplace’s potential to unlock new revenue streams and attract customers.
One of the sources told TechCrunch that the marketplace model will allow startups to charge customers for agents. The structure is similar to how a marketplace might price SaaS offerings rather than building them into broader services.
