Alexa+ now available for everyone in the US; Free for all Prime members

Last year, in February 2025, Amazon started its Early Access Program for Alexa+, and as revealed by the company, tens of millions joined this program to try out this next-generation AI assistant.
Panos Panay, who leads Amazon’s Devices and Services, has now announced that Alexa+ is available to everyone in the US, and Prime members get this new upgrade absolutely free.

Alexa+: Availability
- Prime members can get unlimited access to the full set of Alexa+ capabilities- available to the whole household, across Alexa-enabled devices, Alexa.com, and the Alexa app for free, as part of their membership. Alexa+ also helps members get the most out of Amazon Photos, Prime Video, and Amazon.
- Customers without a Prime membership can try Alexa+ through a new free chat experience at Alexa.com and in the Alexa app. Access will be limited based on use. The experience includes a text-based chat interface, planning, researching, and exploring new topics.
- Non-prime customers can get full access to the full set of Alexa+ capabilities available to the whole household, across Alexa-enabled devices, Alexa.com, and the Alexa app at $19.99 per month.
Prime members can easily start using Alexa+ by saying “Alexa, upgrade to Alexa+” or by logging into their Amazon account at Alexa.com. Customers without Prime can also start using the new free Alexa chat experience today by visiting Alexa.com.
Alexa+: Features
Customers can use Alexa+ to learn, gather information, stay organised, summarise complex topics, shop on Amazon and beyond, book reservations, coordinate across family calendars, meal plan, and much more.
With an entirely new architecture powered by large language models from both Amazon Nova and Anthropic, Alexa+ is significantly more powerful when compared to the previous Alexa version. Alexa+ can also remember context for a more personalised experience. The company has mentioned that the Early Access Program for Alexa+ revealed that overall, customers are interacting with Alexa+ more than twice as much.
Users can pair Alexa+ with Ring cameras to get alerts about unusual patterns around their home, email Alexa+ school schedules and get them automatically added to the family calendar, get homework help, discover new recipes, shop for missing ingredients, walk through a new recipe step-by-step and much more.
