Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 Officially Introduced: 36% Improved CPU Performance, 11% Improved GPU Performance, 46% Improved AI Performance, and More
Following the launch of the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, Qualcomm today on the 26th of November 2025 has brought out its new Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 as a flagship-killer chip. Performance as well as power efficiency of this latest chip have improved significantly, and it equips a lot of added features too.

Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 – Now Official
Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chip is made using the 3nm process technology itself, and it has a core configuration with 2x 3.80 GHz-clocked prime cores and 6x 3.32 GHz-clocked performance cores. Speaking more about its performance, it now offers 36% improved CPU performance, 11% improved GPU performance, and 46% improved AI performance. On the power efficiency side, 42% CPU power savings, 28% GPU power savings, and 13% overall SoC power savings are being promised.
The Adreno 840 GPU is also integrated onto it, and it has the Frame Motion Engine 3.0. Additionally, the brand’s own Hexagon NPU is also featured within it, delivering the above-mentioned 46% improved performance in AI-related tasks. Triple AI ISP, Snapdragon Audio Sense, Night Vision, Mesh Shading, up 165 FPS gaming scenarios, agentic AI assistants, multi-modal AI activation, Sensing Hub, 5G modem-RF system, FastConnect mobile connectivity system, and Bluetooth 6.0 technology are its further key features.
About the smartphone devices that will be hitting the market featuring the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chip, the OnePlus Ace 6T smartphone was just recently teased to use this latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8-series chipset. Its debut is scheduled to take place this month (November 2025) in China, and its re-branded version – the OnePlus 15R with same chip will be unveiled for the global audience on the 17th of December 2025.
